Last night in Noborbetsu Onsen it was 7 degrees Celsius! It felt more like the approach of November than October.<\/p>\n<p>We suspect that this may cause the leaves on the nearby mountains to change color sooner than expected. Usually, they turn in earnest in the middle of October, but this year it seems it may be different.<\/p>\n<p>In such cool weather, how does a Cheese Souffl\u00e9 Omelette from Takimoto Inn\u2019s restaurant, Poplar, sound?<\/p>\n<p>Moments after I ordered the omelette, I heard the distinct sound of a light whisk coming from the kitchen. The kitchen staff, literally, whip up each order carefully to make the lightest omelette possible.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2232\" src=\"http:\/\/www.takimotokan.co.jp\/english\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/TakimotoOctoberLunchSouffle.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The finished product, the Cheese Souffl\u00e9 Omelette, is delightfully delicious. It is 800 yen (tax included) and with a piping hot bowl of soup it is the perfect lunch for this time of year.<\/p>\n<p>Between the 20cm diameter fluffy layers are ham and cheese, and a generous helping of tomato sauce is served on the side.<\/p>\n<p>I also absolutely adore that cute little chicken sandwich. The firm chicken cutlet perfectly matches the bread sandwich for a unique and scrumptious side dish. We hope you like it, too.<\/p>\n<p>Those who like meat will be pleased to see this month\u2019s Grilled Black Angus with Risotto for 1,000 yen (tax included). The set comes with rice or bread, soup and salad.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"aligncenter size-full wp-image-2233\" src=\"http:\/\/www.takimotokan.co.jp\/english\/wp\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/10\/TakimotoOctoberLunchAngus.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"600\" height=\"350\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The elegant slices of Black Angus are very juicy and tender and perfectly match the foie gras. We recommend squeezing a thin slice of lemon over the top. The extra citrus brings it all to life!<\/p>\n<p>The baked risotto side dish with beans and cheese is hearty without overwhelming the beef, making it a perfect companion.<\/p>\n<p>Also in October, Dai-ichi Takimotokan\u2019s Chef Abe is making some fantastic lunch dishes, too.
